ABOUT KETOFRAMEWORK
My name is Shahbaz Ahmed. I built this for my wife. Then I built it for everyone.
I am 38 years old. I was born in Islamabad, Pakistan. I have a wife I love, two kids (a six-year-old and a six-month-old baby), and a habit of researching things obsessively until I actually understand them.
That habit is why KetoFramework exists.
My wife had been struggling with her weight for years. Not from lack of trying. She was doing everything the standard advice says to do. The weight would come off slowly and then return. The energy never improved. She was tired in a way that had become normal, a low-level exhaustion she had simply stopped mentioning.
I could not fix it by telling her to try harder. She was already trying. So I started researching instead.
I read every study I could find on keto, intermittent fasting, and metabolic health. I wanted to understand the mechanism, not just follow a ruleset. Once the biology clicked, everything made sense in a way no other approach had. Lower insulin. Activate fat burning. Give the body a long enough window without food that it starts using what it has stored.
My wife started keto. She has lost 5kg.
I started keto too. At 40, I lost belly fat, got leaner, and have more energy than I did in my thirties.
KetoFramework is what I built when I realised this knowledge should not be locked away in academic papers. It belongs to everyone.
MY BACKGROUND
From Islamabad to London to Gilgit-Baltistan
I grew up in Islamabad. My father was a cloth merchant. We were a large family, three brothers, three sisters, all of us close, most of us still in Islamabad. I studied sociology at university, which gave me something more useful than any business degree: the habit of asking why people behave the way they do and what systems shape their choices.
I have worked in accounting, sales, and digital marketing across my career. Different fields, same underlying skill: understanding what people need and building something that delivers it.
From 2012 to 2017 I lived in London. Five years in one of the most diverse and fast-moving cities in the world. I loved it. I watched friends and people around me struggle with the same things my wife would later struggle with. Weight that would not shift. Energy that was never quite there. Bodies that seemed to have stopped responding to the obvious fixes.
I now live in Gilgit-Baltistan, in the north of Pakistan. If you have never seen this part of the world, look it up. The Karakoram mountains, the Hunza Valley, the clearest skies you will ever see. It is one of the most extraordinary places on earth and it is where I do most of my research, writing, and thinking.
KetoFramework is built from here. Reaching people everywhere.
WHY KETO
I Spent Weeks Trying to Prove Keto Was Wrong
My first reaction to keto was scepticism. High fat sounded like the opposite of everything I had been taught about nutrition. I was convinced it was another trend with a mechanism that would fall apart under scrutiny.
So I read specifically to disprove it.
I read the arguments against it. I read the peer-reviewed research from PubMed and PMC. I read the clinical trials on insulin sensitivity, fat oxidation, and metabolic flexibility. I read the counter-arguments.
I could not disprove it. The mechanism was sound. Reducing carbohydrates lowers insulin. Lower insulin removes the hormonal block on fat burning. Give the body a long enough window without carbohydrates and it switches from burning what you just ate to burning what you have stored. The biology is clear, the research is consistent, and once you understand it the reason every other approach was failing becomes obvious.
They were addressing calories without addressing the hormonal environment that determines what the body does with those calories.
That insight is the foundation of everything on this site.
THE RESULTS
What Actually Happened When We Started
My wife lost 5kg on keto. That number matters. But it is not the number I find most significant.
The afternoon exhaustion she had accepted as normal reduced. The constant hunger that had been background noise in her daily life quieted. She started sleeping better. She felt more like herself.
My own results surprised me more than I expected. I started keto at 40, which is the age when most men start accepting a certain amount of belly fat and declining energy as inevitable. I lost the belly fat. I got leaner. My energy in the afternoon, which had been declining for years, stabilised and then improved. I feel genuinely better at 38 going on 39 than I did at 35.
Neither of us is an athlete. Neither of us follows a perfect diet every single day. We eat real food, we manage our eating windows, and we have built habits that are sustainable rather than extreme.
That is what KetoFramework teaches. Not perfection. Sustainability. The version of keto that fits a real life with a real family and real demands on your time.
Why I Built KetoFramework
I didn’t set out to build a website.
I started helping my mum and realised I had accumulated enough specific knowledge to actually help people well, not just share general information. I understood the mechanism behind why keto worked. I understood the specific adjustments women over 50 needed. I knew the electrolyte protocol that prevented keto flu. I knew how to test for ketosis and what the numbers actually meant. I knew which mistakes derailed most people in the first month.
I also knew that most of the keto content online was either written for men, written for professional athletes, or written by people who had never actually done it themselves.
KetoFramework is what I wished had existed when I started. Everything I have learned, written clearly, from the perspective of someone who has lived it. Not a content factory. Not a brand. Just me, writing what I know, for people who are where I have been.
I am not a doctor. I am not a registered dietitian. I am someone who has three years of firsthand experience, has read the research carefully, has helped my mum through a remarkable health transformation, and writes honestly about what works and what does not.
Everything on this site is backed by research from PubMed and PMC. Everything is checked. But the voice is mine and the experience is mine and I think that matters.
WHAT YOU WILL FIND HERE
Three Areas. One Goal.
KetoFramework covers keto, intermittent fasting, and metabolic health in full. From the basics for a complete beginner to the specific questions that come up months in when results have arrived and you want to understand why.
Keto Diet
The complete framework for starting and sustaining keto. How ketosis works, what to eat, how to manage the first two weeks, how to handle social eating, and what long-term keto actually looks like for people with real lives and real families. Start with the complete keto diet plan.
Intermittent Fasting
Every fasting protocol from the gentle 14:10 to the more advanced 18:6 and 5:2. How to choose the right one for your lifestyle. How to combine fasting with keto for the strongest results. How to make it fit around work, family, and social life. Start with the complete intermittent fasting guide.
Metabolic Health
The biology underneath everything. How insulin works, what fat burning actually means, what goes wrong when metabolic health declines, and how diet and fasting fix it at the root level. Start with the metabolic health guide.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Is KetoFramework for You?
This site is for you if any of the following sounds familiar:
You are doing everything right and your weight is not moving.
You crash every afternoon and have accepted it as normal.
You have tried calorie counting, low fat, or meal replacement approaches and none of them worked long term.
You want to understand why you store fat, not just be told to eat less.
You are a woman whose body has changed in ways the standard advice does not account for.
You are a man over 35 noticing your body composition changing in ways you did not expect.
You have started keto or intermittent fasting and you are confused, struggling, or not seeing the results you expected.
You want research-backed information built by someone who has done the work properly.
If any of those sound like you, you are in the right place.

CLOSING
The Only Reason Any of This Exists
I built KetoFramework because I love my wife and I wanted to help her. I built it because I watched people around me in London struggling with the same thing. I built it because the information that actually works was buried in academic papers that most people will never read.
Everything on this site is the result of that research, made accessible, made practical, made honest.
My wife has lost 5kg. I have lost my belly fat and gained energy I thought was gone for good at 40. Two real people, real results, a real reason for every article on this site.
I hope something here helps you the way this knowledge helped us.
